The MUNOL Association

Once you will have experienced the terrific atmosphere at MUNOL, it will be easy for you to understand the objectives of the group of former MUNOL Student Officers that initiated the MUNOL Association (MUNOL e.V.) in 2003. The only bad thing about the conference is that the day you cannot participate anymore will eventually come. This is due to the fact that MUNOL has not lost its unique character: Ever since the first session was held in 1998, MUNOL has been realized and organized entirely by high school students. Thus, the Association’s first purpose is to unite all those who have been infected with the MUNOL-virus (also known as MUNOL-spirit). Furthermore, it serves as a contact base for all members and for those who simply cannot renounce to keeping wonderful memories alive.

Besides many activities and supplies that will be made available to all Association members, its core intention is to support the conference financially and ideally. Due to many years of practical experience at different levels of MUNOL and other international MUNs, many of the former Student Officers, delegates and sponsors have information, contacts and advice readily available. By channeling this knowledge in the MUNOL Association, a helpful hand can be offered to the Conference Management.

Activities

The Association provides all members with regular newsletters about the activities of the Conference Management and the Secretariat in order for the members to be informed about the state of affairs of the conference. In addition, all members receive an invitation to visit the conference as a guest.

At every conference an Action Paper will be created, addressing interested former participants especially.

Furthermore, the Association seeks to build an alumni network. Former MUNOL participants will thus be able to stay in contact with each other, and thereby the spreading of the enhanced international intention of the conference will be possible.

Assuming that the members of the Association get in contact with interesting, important and outstanding personalities in the fields of politics and economics at university or work, we would like to encourage our members to invite these people to join the MUNOL conference as Guest Speakers.

Yet not initiated the Association plans on organizing trips to MUN sessions at university level – if interest among the members exists.
