Conference Manager

PortraitHello everyone!
My name is Erik Bachorski and I am this year’s Conference Manager. I am 19 years old and currently attending the 13th grade at Thomas-Mann-School. After having held the Financial Manager’s office last year, this session will be my second time being part of the organizing team. MUNOL 2009 will be my 5th MUNOL and my 7th MUN in total. Apart from MUNOL, I participated in RIMUN and THIMUN.
As every year, MUNOL involves an intense preparation and a thorough research for all participants but at the same time it involves fun and the opportunity to make new friends. Therefore elaborate your resolutions and get your speeches done and always keep in mind that MUNOL is more than just a simulation of the UN.
I am certain that together we will make MUNOL 2009 a great conference and I am looking forward to seeing you all at the end of April.

Best Regards,
Erik

Katharina

Financial Manager

PortraitDear sponsors, students, teachers, guest speakers and everyone else who is interested!
May I introduce myself to you; my name is Timothy Bunck and I am 19 years old. This is my fifth time attending MUNOL. Last year I had the position of the “Head of Media Staff”. At this years conference I am MUNOL’s Financial Manager, so you basically can call me MUNOL’s accountant; it is my task to handle all money related issues of next year’s conference .This also involves collecting donations, so that there is money to take care of in the first place. I promise to do my very best, so that all of you students and teachers will get one of those tasty hot meals during lunch break ;-)

Have fun preparing for the conference,
Timothy

Secretary General

PortraitI am Erik von Kügelgen, Secretary-General of MUNOL 2009. In order to introduce you to my person I will give you a short biographical overview about myself. I was born in Lübeck in 1989 where I went to elementary school and Gymnasium. I finished the first part of my academic track in early summer of 2008 with the Abitur. Currently I am doing my civilian service and plan on studying law.
My MUN career started in 2004 where I attended MUNOL as delegate of Turkey in the Environmental Commission. In 2006 I became Vice Chairman of the 2nd Committee of the General Assembly where I discovered my passion about chairing. But I still wanted to be a delegate as well, thus I seized my chance and went to THIMUN as delegate of Belize. Then, in MUNOL 2007, I got my own committee: GA6 – Legal; and I finally applied for an appointment to the General Secretariat: I was elected Deputy Secretary-General 2008. But before I took on this task I again was delegate at THIMUN, this time representing Côte d’Ivoire. After the MUNOL conference 2008 I was elected Secretary-General for 2009, which will presumably be my last conference as a MUNOL official.
But another time I am now looking forward to a great and enthralling conference. More than ever in the History of MUNOL the international community is facing imminent crises and political challenges; we lived to see changes at the heads of the most powerful nations, new acts of war are emerging, and we are not even close to a solution for all ecological problems.
I hope that you will find a way to make this a better world. Even though MUNOL is ‘only’ a simulation you can get the chance to experience how it feels to sponsor a resolution everybody agrees to and then you might go down in history someday, when you are making your ideas reality. We are ready to write a new chapter of politics!

Deputy Secretary General

PortraitHello fellow MUNOL participants of 2009,
At the 12th annual session of MUNOL I will have the honour to act as deputy secretary general. My name is Franziska Weis, I am 16 years old and currently attending 12th Grade of the Thomas-Mann-Schule in Lübeck, which will also be hosting the conference. MUNOL will be my 11th MUN conference due to my participation at several other MUNs all around Europe such as THIMUN, RIMUN, HMUN,MUNOM etc. I am very looking forward to all the MUNOL related work and the actual happening of the conference and I hope you are as well. With high qualified preparation of you, delegates and chairs, as well as the preparation of the organization team, including me, I am sure we will have productive committees and commissions and a splendid week here in Lübeck.
If you have any problems with your preparation don’t mind asking one of your Chairs through the installed Forum or by Email and if it concerns bigger Issues you are welcomed to address the office of the Secretary General.
With best regards,
Franziska
