Conference Manager

PortraitDears Students, Teachers, Sponsors and Guests,

my name is Nils Gravenhorst and I am this year's Conference Manager.
I am 18 years old and currently attending the 13th grade at Thomas-Mann-School. After having held the Office of the President of the General Assembly in 2009, all organizational tasks of MUNOL 2010 lay within my discretion. Therefore I feel responsible for your convenience before, during and after the conference. If you experience any personal discomfort or any question arises, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.

The MUN experience I was privileged to enjoy covers participations in total at THIMUN, MUNOL and RIMUN. From my experience as a delegate, I advise you to do extensive research and prepare your soft skills in order to make MUNOL a constructive conference. On the other hand, please make yourself comfortable in Luebeck and enjoy the exchange with other participants. In a nutshell: elaborate your resolutions and get your speeches done and always keep in mind that MUNOL is more than just a simulation of the UN.

There is no doubt in my mind, that we will experience a constructive, enjoyable and memorable conference in May 2010.

Yours truly,
Nils Gravenhorst

Assistant Conference Manager

PortraitDear students and teachers,

my name is Carolin Lehmann and I am elected Assistant Conference Manager of MUNOL 2010. I’m 18 years old and currently attending the 13th grade of the Thomas-Mann-Schule in Luebeck. Taking part in MUNOL 2010 will be my 4th MUNOL session in total and my second time in the Executive Staff. So far, I have been a part of the Administrative Staff, the Press and last year I was the Head of MUNOL Press, which is responsible for the daily publication of the MUNOLmagazine.
As this year’s Conference Management, Nils Gravenhorst and I, have been assigned to organize the whole conference, which means a lot of hard work, but great fun at the same time. We will be responsible for the entire process of the MUNOL week and to make sure that everything goes according to the plan.
Altogether MUNOL is always a great opportunity to improve your language skills, make lots of new friends and to have a week full of new experiences.

I'm already looking forward to seeing you in May 2010.

Yours sincerely,
Carolin

Financial Manager

PortraitHey!
My name is Katharina Kemp and at this year’s conference I am the Financial Manager. I am 19 years old and the conference will be my 5th time attending MUNOL. Last year I had been the Assistant Conference Manager. Now I am trying to do my very best to collect money for this year’s conference, for YOUR conference, students and teachers, to make the 13th annual session again unforgettable.
I am looking forward to MUNOL 2010!

Secretary General

Portrait Dear MUNOL-Participants, Ladies and Gentlemen,
My name is Franziska Weis; I am 17 years old and a senior at the Thomas-Mann-Schule of Lübeck.
I have the honor that I was elected to fulfill the position of the Secretary-General at MUNOL 2010. During MUNOL 2009 I was acting as the Deputy Secretary-General under the supervision of Erik von Kügelgen. I am very excited and motivated to take over his responsibilities and I will try to do my best to accomplish such a satisfying job, as Erik did last year. My MUN Experience commenced in 2005. Since then and until now I have been to several different MUNs such as HMUN, THIMUN, RIMUN, and MUNOM and last but definitely not least MUNOL! MUNOL 2010 will be my 14th MUN conference. During my previous MUNs I acted as Delegate, Ambassador and as Chair. I am very motivated about the upcoming conference and I hope you are too. Together with my Deputy I will choose the Issues of the Agenda and we will also cast the Chair-Positions. I hope to see a lot of you applying as Delegates or Chairs. Let’s make MUNOL 2010 happen!
With the best Regards and big excitement,
Yours Franziska

Deputy Secretary General

PortraitHi everybody,
my name is Shervin Jafari and I'm 19 years old and currently I am attending the 13th grade of the Thomas-Mann-School in Lübeck. 2010 I’ll be MUNOL’s Deputy Secretary General. Although this is going to be my fifth MUNOL, it will be my first time as a member of the Executive Staff and I’m looking forward to getting to know the conference from a different perspective. I have made my way through almost every position at MUNOL and been an Ad-Staff, a Task Force member, a delegate and chairman so far.
MUNOL 2010 is not only going to be a special conference for me because it’s my first time as a member of the Executive Staff, it will also most likely be my last one and therefore I especially hope it will be as great of an experience as all the others were and maybe even better.
Together with Franziska Weis, 2010’s Secretary General, we will be responsible for the chairpersons and the Issues of the Agenda and I hope all attendants and of course especially the chair applicants are as motivated as we are to make MUNOL 2010 a memorable event.
Hopefully every one of you is as excited as I am to experience the MUNOL-Spirit once more.
Kind regards,
Shervin Jafari

Student Supervisor

PortraitDear students and teachers,
My name is Hauke Hakelberg and I am the Student Supervisor for the 2010 Model United Nations of Lübeck. Currently attending 13th grade of the Thomas-Mann-School, I will turn 19 this fall. After twice participating in the Munol Conference, first as an add-staff and then later as a delegate, I feel ready to proceed further and taking part in the organizational team of the 2010 Model United Nations fullfilling the position of the Student Supervisor.
As the Student Supervisor, my colleague Jonas Einfeldt and I will organize the student placement and everything what is associated with that work for the upcoming conference. Because finding hostfamilies for the foreign students is a big part of our work I appeal to anyone, who is able to host a student for the time of the conference, to contact me or Jonas. After finishing high school, I look into studying International Relations at the University of Groningen. I am ready to commit myself for your benefit so you are able to have a week of great experiences that will help you improve your personal skills.
For further information or questions feel free to contact me.
In hope to see everybody in spring,

Best regards,Hauke Hakelberg
